Celebrity stylist and evolving designer Carlton Jones premiered his resort womens wear collection, Cascade Resort 2020, on June 4, 2019, at the swanky, new TWA Lounge at One World Trade Center. He elevated his game once again by taking us in the skies 86 floors above city grounds in the heart of lower Manhattan.
On the runway was supermodel Liris Crosse, curvy model of Project Runway season 16. In attendance were fashion who’s who like Memsor Kamarake, Harriette Cole, Keith Major, Anna Maria Sandegren, to name a few.
The signature print of the season, being a cascade of color, encourages combos both with and without the print. While the maxi-slip dress extracted a vibrant periwinkle, matched in intensity was the cherry/peach combo of the romper, while the first bathing suit of the collection was more subdued with mesh accents of olive and navy.
Other notables include the premium fit of the kimono sleeve Rose dress, and it’s zig-zag hemline, the asymmetry in the incredibly forgiving ruched dress, which was shown in silk print, and then punctuated with a version in tencel jersey which celebrates and support curves, as shown on Liris. Closing the show was the breathtaking finale tunic with head-to-toe voluminous flow in the season’s signature print.
