Mumbai, 16th February 2020: Men’s Fashion Designer, Kunal Anil Tanna displayed subtle primary tones of ivory, bare tinges of beige, effortless gradations of grey integrated with staple shades of blue and deep tanned blush from his new collection ‘Elementary‘ at LFW S/S’20. Matching his aesthetic and style, the suave Bollywood actor, Kunal Kemmu set the ramp ablaze with his captivating dance moves and charm.
The beautiful collection aimed at wiping the slate clean and starting at the roots, so it was a range of immaculately tailored ensembles that were unveiled on the runway. Focusing on the fact that wearing similarly designed garments can still enable the dressers to celebrate their individual personality; each outfit had a poised, composed and confident look.
Experimenting with basic silhouettes that are quintessential in every man’s wardrobe and yet maintaining the label’s philosophy, each garment was designed to appeal to buyers who are as free-spirited, expressive and Avant-Garde as his inspiration.
Masterfully rendering an innovative dimension, the range was a mix of simplistically constructed clothing with intricate in-house textures, that were relaxed yet trendy in their sensibility. Achkans, bandgala jackets, tunics and trousers catered to the sartorial needs of the New Age male. The knee-length textured coat and the stylish bomber jacket with parallel trousers offered an easy relaxed look.
With the design mantra being, “Going back to basics and starting from where it began,” the range was a mix of lines, checks and simple silhouettes reinvented to give athletic vibes.
Showcasing a sharply cut range of men’s wear, techniques like couching, appliqués, Kantha, and prints along with crochet were seamlessly used to capture the imagination of the fashion connoisseurs. Going for subtle shades of ivory, bare tinges of beige, graduating grey along with blue and tanned blue the masculine color story had the right tones. Indulging in textures, Kunal played with simple fabrics like cotton weaves, Chanderis, woven and knits for effortlessly styled looks.
The line of ivory separates offered a very interesting knit side buttoned long-sleeve T-shirt, while a shirt with placket detailing teamed with the long knit sweater was a cool summer look. The double-buttoned opening for a biker’s jacket in knit, had a relaxed vibe and when worn with slim ivory jeans the look had a fresh masculine appeal.
The very charismatic, Bollywood actor, Kunal Khemu, rocked the ramp in an embroidered oversized blue jacket and a simple black tunic style shirt and trousers.
Kunal Kemmu said, “Walking for Kunal Tanna was thoroughly enjoyable. ‘Elementary’ is truly a compilation of revisited basic design philosophies. My outfit was not only fashionable but also extremely wearable.
Supporting and cheering on the designer, the front row was graced by Bollywood celebrities Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Meiyang Chang!.
