Reshma Dordi, a former pageant winner and television host, is also the founder of Reshma® Beauty, a natural line of skin and haircare products based on ancient South Asian beauty traditions. Here, she shares her four-week bridal beauty bootcamp to get your best bridal skin.

Your wedding day may be a celebration of your love, but with all the joy also comes long lists of to-dos and deadlines. While your attention is primarily focused on the details of the dance list or the exact color of your pink flowers, your skin can be silently starving for some much-needed TLC. Here’s how you can stay on top of your to-do list and still get a naturally radiant bridal glow on your Big Day, in just four weeks without breaking the bank. I call it… the Reshma Beauty Radiance Boost.

From the Inside Out
First and foremost, manage your stress. Many inflammatory conditions are a direct result of stress so I advise practicing yoga and meditation to quiet the mind and stay calm. Additionally, certain yoga postures like inverted, forward bends increase blood supply to the head, which helps your skin glow and radiate from the inside out. I also have to emphasize that drinking enough water and getting your beauty sleep should be the utmost priority for you as this will help flush out toxins and refresh your complexion.

Exfoliate With Ubtan (Turmeric)
The first step of the Reshma Beauty Radiance Boost is weekly exfoliation. As dead cells accumulate on skin, they clog up pores, giving us a dull appearance. I recommend using the Reshma Ubtan, $7.99, with turmeric exfoliating facemask in powder form at least 2-3 times a week. Ubtan has traditionally been used in South Asian wedding ceremonies to beautify both the bride and groom. Natural turmeric along with gram flour and sandalwood in the Ubtan mask, act as a mild exfoliator that helps in regenerating skin cells, reducing acne and decrease the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. Curcumin – one of the most important active compounds found in turmeric – is an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-carcinogenic, antifungal and antiviral powerhouse. No wonder, this has been the number one go-to beauty ingredient for hundreds of years.

For Oily Skin

Take one tablespoon Ubtan powder and mix with one teaspoon of the refreshing Reshma Rosewater, $7.99, until it becomes a paste. Apply gently in a circular motion and wash off with warm water. This mixture will help control oil secretion.

For Dry Skin

Mix the Ubtan powder with yogurt or milk as their natural fats nourish and hydrate the skin. Remove any excess residue with the Reshma Turmeric soap, $5.99. After this step, spray some Reshma Rosewater Toner to lock in the moisture and help balance the pH levels of your skin. It also has a sweet and tender Rose scent that is bound to make you feel rejuvenated and refreshed.

Bi-Weekly Masking With Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth)
Multani Mitti or Fuller’s Earth (clay from Multan, Pakistan) is nature’s gift to your skin. This traditional skin care ingredient, originating from South Asia, is rich in minerals, such as aluminium silicate, which offers high absorbing properties that leave the skin fresh and radiant. The Reshma Beauty Multani Mitti mask helps fade dark patches, treat acne, extract dirt, tighten pores, absorb excess oil, prevent skin from sagging and heal scars. Here’s how you can use this excellent anti-aging and skin brightening mask-

For Oily Skin

Mix 1 tablespoon of Reshma Beauty Multani Mitti powder with 1 teaspoon of Reshma rosewater and apply it on your face and décolletage and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water, pat dry and then spray some Rosewater all over your face.

For Dry Skin

Mix 1 tablespoon of Reshma Beauty Multani Mitti powder, $7.99, with 1 tablespoon of yogurt or milk until it becomes a fine paste and apply it on your face and décolletage and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water, pat dry and then spray some Reshma Rosewater as an added layer of protection.

You can also mix the Multani Mitti powder with other kitchen ingredients like honey, tomato juice or one beaten egg white. One pack of the Reshma Beauty Multani Mitti mask has enough powder to get you through two-three weeks.

Daily Rosemary Body Wash
Rosemary is a rich source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which are thought to help boost the immune system and improve blood circulation. The Reshma Beauty Rosemary soap, $5.99, infused with natural rosemary essential oil, helps protect skin cells from damage, and since Rosemary has natural antiseptic properties, it acts as a superior disinfectant for the skin, helping get rid of breakouts and other minor skin irritations.

I recommend using this soap bar everyday, as not only does it protect your skin but also, the scent of rosemary is a great stress and anxiety buster. This is the perfect remedy for your busy and demanding schedule.

So ladies, this is how you can get a gorgeous bridal glow without splurging on dermatological procedures. Always remember, take care of your body and your body will take care you.

Love, Reshma
