Her exotic looks and incredible smile has made Bangalore-born model Lakshmi Menon a darling of the fashion world. She started modeling in 2006 as a part-time way to earn extra money. Little did she realize that her coveted look would make her the face of Hermes in 2008 replacing Daria Werbowy. Soon thereafter, she signed with Ford Models and there has been no looking back. She has walked runways for Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake and Stella McCartney while her debut walks for New York Fashion Week Fall 2008 included closing the Ohne Titel show and appearing in Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, and Vera Wang’s collections. In December 2008, Vogue named Menon “This Year’s Model” as she renewed her contract with Givenchy. With that kind of heady success, it’s no wonder that Style.com and New York Look have included her as one of the top ten newcomers to watch.
